Examinations
Many courses facilitated through the DCE Facilitation Center require the student to have a proctor to administer course exams. If your course requires proctored exams, it is your responsibility to locate your own proctor to monitor test taking. The following people would be appropriate to select as proctors: public school or community college teachers or administrators, librarians, counselors at public schools, community colleges or universities, or an administrator in the training or human resource department of your company; a military education officer or military testing center supervisor; or a TELENET 2 site facilitator. Military students are expected to utilize military testing facilities. An e-mail address is required for all proctors. Please do not ask a personal friend, relative, direct supervisor, or graduate student to serve as your proctor. Proctors who do not fit the above description will be refused.
Your proctor must understand that the examinations are copyrighted and confidential and will agree to keep them secure. Your proctor will agree to return the exams as instructed and will not allow you to be in possession of the exams at any time. Your proctor must understand that he/she will not be paid for this service, but will proctor the examinations to help you.
When you have located a proctor, have that person complete and sign the Examination Proctor's Agreement (pdf) and return it to the DCE Facilitation Center. A proctor agreement form (pdf) is available online and is also included with course materials. Students with courses facilitated through the DCE Facilitation Center and living in the Manhattan proximity have the option of taking their exams in the DCE Facilitation Center on weekdays between the hours of 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-5 p.m. Call 1-877-528-6105 or 785-532-5686, or e-mail distance@k-state.edu.
