Degree and Program Development
The growing need for educated and highly skilled individuals in the workforce encourages current workers to strive to obtain a bachelor's degree, master's degree, certifications, and other advanced education while working full-time and unable to relocate to a college campus.
DCE has provided educational opportunities to non-traditional students for over 30 years, offering degrees, certification programs, and non-credit courses.
Distance Education Course Development
DCE offers several tools in Web-course development:
- Development Grants
- K-State Online, a Web-based instructional system
- Technology support and planning
- Personal consulting
- Technical support Help Desk
Evening College
Pursuing higher education while balancing a job or family requires flexible course times that work in conjunction with busy daytime schedules. DCE provides courses during evening hours that work toward a degree or toward enhancing personal and career goals.
Intersession
Intersession benefits individuals desiring to complete rigorous coursework in a short amount of time. DCE gives students the opportunity to concentrate on one course intensively while earning extra credits to accelerate their programs.
Conference Planning
Delivering a successful conference, seminar, or workshop and establishing a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) or certificate program involves a great deal of planning, preparation, organization, and effort. Trained DCE staff can contribute to the program at all levels, from conceptualization to conclusion.
DCE provides support services to plan and execute a program, allowing you focus on content rather than the logistics. Services can include program planning, marketing, financial administration, registration services, and logistics of the event.
Our professional staff works with more than 150 conferences and workshops annually, many held in Manhattan, with many others held throughout Kansas, the United States, and a few internationally. Program size can range from a small 15-person seminar to a 2,000-participant conference. Lengths of programs vary, and distance delivery systems can be used for workshops and non-credit courses.
Non-Credit Development
Non-credit opportunities for individuals and companies are becoming important resources in keeping America's workforce highly productive and competitive. K-State academic resources can be formatted and delivered to help meet these needs. DCE can help you identify how to best match an educational product to workforce development. Non-credit opportunities offer professional updating, career advancement, workforce development, and recertification requirements.
