Development Grants
K-State's Division of Continuing Education has a grant process providing funding to support the development of online course and/or program development at both the credit and noncredit levels and new conferences. Proposals are now being accepted for the 2009-2010 academic year. K-State faculty and departments are encouraged to fill out and submit the Grant Proposal form (PDF or DOC).
Funding is available for:
- Online credit courses and programs
- Online noncredit courses and programs
- New regional and national conference programs
These development dollars are provided to continue the growth of excellent quality distance education initiatives at K-State. DCE actively seeks partnerships with the academic departments and colleges of K-State for the purpose of developing programs for online and off campus delivery. This area of enrollment at K-State has grown markedly in the last several years and K-State is nationally recognized for its innovation and excellence in distance education.
In addition, we have set aside some funds to help support new regional and national conferences recognizing the importance of providing learning opportunities to Kansas citizens, K-State Alumni, and others who want to benefit from the intellectual content and instruction that represents the University. Departments and faculty are encouraged to concentrate on programmatic issues that allow for distribution of research, sharing of emerging perspectives within or across disciplines, and strategies for improving organizational infrastructures.
Past Grant Awards
In 2008-2009 over $300,000 in funding was awarded through the Division of Continuing Education Development Grants for the support of new distance programs and courses and for the enhancement of existing distance programs.
