EPDS 1-A Mississippi River Flood of 1993 1 PDH $55
Description of the 1993 Mississippi River flood that occurred throughout the Midwest. Surface water quality during the flood event will also be presented.
EPDS 1-B Lessons from Recent Floods 1.5 PDHs $83
Investigation of the Fort Collins, Colorado flood of 1996 along with lessons learned. The community faced many challenges as some streamflow amounts exceeded the 500 year return period values.
EPDS 1-C Determining Time of Concentration for a Watershed 1 PDH $55
This seminar defines time of concentration and presents ways to calculate time of concentration. This is an important watershed parameter that needs to be as accurate as possible when modeling a watershed to estimate flood flows.
EPDS 1-D Using the Santa Barbara Urban Hydrograph Method 1 PDH $55
The Santa Barbara Urban Hydrograph method is a unique, user-friendly model that provides good streamflow prediction results. The entire method will be presented along with examples.
EPDS 1-E Detention Pond Design 2 PDHs $110
Detention ponds are used to reduce flood flows downstream. This seminar presents a preliminary detention pond design method.
EPDS 1-F Watershed Determination 2 PDHs $110
The process of determining watersheds will be presented. Workshop participants will observe an example, then work on some examples, then return to observe how the watersheds were created.
