Online Engineering Master’s Degrees
The College of Engineering at Kansas State University offers master’s degrees via distance education in chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, and software engineering, engineering management, and operations research. A nuclear engineering master’s for Navy personnel is also available. All courses are offered online. The distance courses are exactly the same as the courses offered on campus, and a distance student’s diploma and transcript will be identical to an on-campus student’s.
Students never need to come to campus for any coursework. Most degree programs do require a campus visit after all coursework is completed so that the final exam can be conducted with the student’s graduate committee.
Distance students are offered most of the same benefits and services as on-campus students:
- Student Services such as online library access, financial aid and scholarships, Student Access Center, online textbook ordering and purchasing, online enrollment for courses, K-State IT Help Desk support, and more.
- Graduation ceremonies, both on-campus and virtual.
- Online billing, online grade reporting, and discounts on computers and equipment at the K-State Student Union Computer Store.
The K-State Division of Continuing Education (DCE) coordinates and manages K-State distance programs.
