Educational Leadership

The Department of Educational Leadership offers several degrees within two programs:

Program Highlights

  • Large proportion of programming offered via distance-enhanced delivery.
  • Highly qualified Kansas State University professors provide classes via distance and/or face-to-face designs in several Kansas locations.
  • Focus is on defining and resolving problems of professional practice in a diverse and pluralistic society.
  • Degree programs are configured to meet individual professional goals.
Educational Administration

Educational Administration courses may lead to:

  • M.S. degree – Master of Science
  • Ed.D. degree – Doctor of Education
  • Licensure as a building administrator or a district school administrator
  • Special Education Directorships.

Other leadership positions in educational organizations are also enhanced by master's and/or doctoral degrees in educational administration. The programmatic focus is on developing leaders in educational settings, with an emphasis on P-12 settings.

Adult and Continuing Education

Adult and Continuing Education courses are designed for individuals in the following areas:

  • adult and continuing education
  • extension education
  • human resource development
  • community education and development
  • institutions, agencies, and organizations that deal primarily with adult needs and education

The M.S., Ed.D., and the Ph.D. degrees in Adult and Continuing Education are designed to provide advanced education and experience by preparing individuals for work in business, industry, government, health services, community agencies, and careers in two- and four-year colleges and universities.
