This program is not accepting new students at this time.

The Elementary Education bachelor's degree with a concentration in English as a Second Language is offered only in Southwest Kansas. This degree involves coursework from Dodge City Community College, Garden City Community College, or Seward County Community College with the last two years of coursework from K-State. Completion of the program will be via TELENET 2 and face-to-face courses offered by K-State in Southwest Kansas locations.

The bachelor's degree in Elementary Education is designed to provide an understanding of content, teaching methods, and student learning appropriate for teaching grades K-6. The area of concentration in English as a Second Language (ESL) provides a solid understanding of issues surrounding culturally and linguistically diverse students in the areas of methodology for teaching second language learners, assessment, linguistics, and cross-cultural competence.

To complete the program, students must complete 129 credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
