Distance Education

K-State has been giving Kansans—and now, the world—the very best formal distance education since 1974. And in fact, from the earliest days of the 20th century, when an evening with the radio tuned to K-State broadcasts was required listening for farm families across the state, K-State has a great track record of providing education to people when and where they need it.

You can take courses when and where it’s convenient for you-over the Internet or on CD, over your lunch hour or on a plane, early in the morning or late at night. We are committed to responding to student needs in our course offerings, services, and methods of delivering courses.

We know you have a lot of options today when it comes to online learning. We hope that K-State’s long and distinguished history will factor into your decision, because we know what we’re doing when it comes to distance education!

K-State distance education students report many benefits, including:

  • The ability to complete coursework over the lunch hour, on the weekends or when the kids are in bed
  • The prospect of finishing a degree that life may have derailed for a time or working toward a certificate in specialized area.
  • The possibility for an entirely new career direction
  • The opportunity to partner on projects with classmates from all over the country or the world
  • The chance to be an amazing role model for your kids as they see you set-and achieve-your goals

Distance education takes a certain amount of dedication, self-direction and perseverance. While flexibility is a huge benefit of distance education, successful distance students also understand that their education is their responsibility. Take this quiz to determine whether you’re a good potential distance education student. We’re betting you are!
