Refunds
Distance Courses
Tuition refunds are calculated based on the number of calendar days in the course. You may be eligible for a full or partial refund of tuition if you choose to drop your course before a certain date. Consult your course packet, or contact the DCE Registration Office at 785-532-5566 or 1-800-432-8222 to inquire about deadlines.
Refund Policy
Students may receive a 100% refund of tuition if one is requested in writing prior to the completion of 20% of the course or if the course is canceled. Students may receive a 50% refund of tuition if one is requested in writing on or before the completion of 25% of the course (see non-refundable exceptions below).
No refund is available after 25% of the course is completed.
Distance courses and programs taken for non-credit follow the above refund policies unless otherwise specified.
Exceptions
The following tuition components are non-refundable: licensing fees, program deposits, shipping costs, late fees, returned check charges, and some college/departmental support fees.
All shippable course materials* must be returned to the DCE Facilitation Center. The University will withhold student records and deny future enrollment for non-return of University property or non-payment of fees.
* Shippable course materials are defined as videotapes, audiotapes, CD-ROMs, diskettes, lab kits, or any educational materials specifically related to the course. The DCE Course Information Packet, welcome letter, or any materials sent to students electronically or posted on the Web are not considered shippable course materials.
Face-to-Face Courses
Students may receive a full refund if one is requested prior to the completion of 20% of the course or if the course is canceled.
Students may receive a 50% refund if one is requested on or before the completion of 25% of the course.
No refund is available after 25% of the course is completed.
Additional course costs, such as book handling, late registration or payment, materials or lab fees, etc., are non-refundable.
Refunds for non-credit programs and courses vary. A full refund will be made upon cancellation of an event.
