The Enterprise Information System (EIS) is the Division of Continuing Education's course management and approval system that replaced the Credit Course Worksheet (CCW). It operates in a similar manner to the CCW, but has enhanced features that facilitates communication between all those who work with DCE courses.

The Course Approval Process is similar to what you are already familiar with from the CCW. Follow the step by step instructions below to view and approve your course(s).

  1. You will receive an e-mail with a subject line of "The Division of Continuing Education has courses that require your approval." If you do not approve your course on the day you receive the e-mail, you will receive daily reminders to approve the course, including weekends, until you approve the course.
  2. The text of the message is as follows:

A Credit Course Worksheet has been initiated for each of the following courses and requires your review and approval:

    YOUR COURSE(S) LISTED HERE

    http://eis.dce.ksu.edu/EIS/approval

Click on the underlined text above to link to the EIS website. If your system is unable to link to the website, please copy the underlined text and paste it into the location field of your web browser.

If you require further information prior to approval of these courses, please contact the coordinator for the course. Thank you!

  3. Click on the link in the message. This will take you to the EIS log in page.
  4. Using your K-State EID and password, log into the EIS system
  5. A list of all your courses requiring approval will appear in tabular form
  6. Click on the Course Department and Number on the left side of the screen. This text will be blue in color.
  7. Review the course information that is displayed, scrolling down as needed to see all the information. If any of the information is not correct you can either reject the course, including a comment as to why you are rejecting the course, or close the window and contact Ron Jackson to make corrections to your course information. You will be able to access the course for approval after the corrections are completed.
  8. If all information is correct return to the top of the page. Toward the left of the page, click on the radio button that says "I approve this course". Then click the SUBMIT button at the top right side of the page.
  9. You should see a message thanking you for approving your course.
  10. Click on Return to Course Page
  11. Continue to approve any other courses listed in the same manner. Once all courses have been approved LOG-OFF of the EIS systems by clicking the appropriate button at the top of the screen
  12. 12. Close your browser to return to your previous task.

Once you have approved your course, it moves electronically to the next level of approval. The approval process takes approximately one week to 10 days depending on how many people need to approve the course.

If your college has an internal review process for Intersession, you will be sent a paper copy of the EIS worksheet to attach to any other paperwork you may be required to submit to your college. Please note that not all colleges have additional Intersession review or forms requirements.
