Registration Information

Enrollment in the workshop is limited. Please register as soon as possible to guarantee your reservation. There is no enrollment limit for the Rapid Methods mini-symposium on September 9-10 or the Molecular Detection Day on September 14.

Registration will not be guaranteed until registration fees are paid. Payment must be in U.S. Dollars or by world wide money order, and must be received in the Division of Continuing Education Conference Registration Office by August 26, 2011.

Fees

Workshop

The registration fee for the entire workshop is $1,975. Workshop registration is for September 9-15 and includes the mini-symposium on September 9 and 10. This registration option includes seven days of program sessions and laboratories, and handout materials. Also included are two banquets, one lunch, a picnic, refreshment breaks, and receptions. Other meals, lodging, and transportation are not included.

Mini-Symposium

The registration fee for the mini-symposium on September 9-10 is $750 and includes sessions, handouts, refreshment breaks, one lunch, opening banquet, and a reception.

Molecular Detection Day

The registration fee for Molecular Detection Day on September 14 is $250, and includes sessions, handouts, lunch, and breaks. This one-day special event will be held in Trotter Hall on the K-State campus.

University Credit

Two hours of graduate credit (optional) are available for FDSCI 713 for an additional $936. Instructor permission is required to enroll in the course. Contact Dr. Daniel Y. C. Fung at dfung@k-state.edu to request permission. If you are interested in taking the workshop for credit, please mark the appropriate field on the registration form and information on enrolling will be sent to you.

Continuing Education Credits

Each participant will receive a certificate of participation upon completion of the workshop. Optional CEUs are available for an additional $25 and can be purchased when you register for the workshop.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

The workshop registration fee, less a $150 handling charge, will be cheerfully refunded if notice of cancellation is received in the Division of Continuing Education conference registration office by 5 p.m. CST on August 26, 2011. After that date, a 75 percent refund will be offered until August 31, 2011. Due to guarantees we must provide to vendors, no refund will be available after August 31. Fees will not be canceled for registered participants who do not attend the workshop and have not notified the conference registration office by August 31. Registration is not considered final until fees have been paid.

The Division of Continuing Education may cancel or postpone any course or activity because of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If a program is canceled or postponed, the Division of Continuing Education will refund registration fees but cannot be held responsible for other costs, charges, or expenses, including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.

Letter of invitation

If you require a visa to enter the United States and need a letter of invitation to the workshop, please contact Dr. Daniel Y. C. Fung. (The letter of invitation will be faxed to you or sent to you via e-mail. We will not send original letters to embassies or provide assistance in securing a visa.)
