Registration Information

Workshop Fees

The registration fee for the 2006 Rapid Methods and Automation in Microbiology Workshop is $1,995 (includes the mini-symposium). This includes eight days of program sessions and laboratories, all handout materials, and a one-year subscription to Journal of Rapid Methods and Automation in Microbiology. Also included are two banquets, one lunch, a picnic, refreshment breaks, and receptions. Other meals, lodging, and transportation are not included. Payment must be in U.S. dollars or by World Wide Money Order.

Mini-Symposium and Celebration Fees

The registration fee for the Mini-Symposium of July 14-15 is $650. The fee includes all sessions, handouts, coffee breaks, one lunch, symposium banquet, and a reception.

Molecular Detection Day Fee

A $250 one-day registration option is available for Molecular Detection Day on July 19, 2006. The fee includes handouts, lunch, breaks, and the evening banquet. Lectures will be held in the Veterinary Medicine Complex on the K-state campus.

University Credit

Two hours of graduate credit (optional) are available for an additional $672. Instructor permission is required - contact Dr. Daniel Y. C. Fung at dfung@k-state.edu. To register for FDSCI 731, reference #90396, go to www.dce.k-state.edu and click "Course Offerings."

CEUs

Each participant will receive a Certificate of Participation upon completion of the workshop. Optional CEUs are also available for an additional $25. Mark the appropriate section of your registration form if you wish to receive these optional CEU's.

Graduate Student Fellowships

Fellowships, including tuition, room, and board may be awarded to highly qualified degree-seeking graduate students to participate in the workshop as special assistants. Contact Dr. Daniel Y.C. Fung for details. Application deadline: May 15, 2006.

Refund/Cancellation Information

The workshop registration fee, less a $100 handling charge, will be cheerfully refunded if notice of cancellation is received on or before June 28, 2006. After that date, a 75 percent refund will be available until July 7, 2006. Due to guarantees we must give, no refund will be available after July 7, 2006.

The Division of Continuing Education may cancel or postpone any course or activity because of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If a program is canceled or postponed, the Division of Continuing Education will refund registration fees but cannot be held responsible for other costs, charges, or expenses, including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.

Limited Enrollment

Enrollment in the workshop is limited. Please register as soon as possible to guarantee your enrollment. There is no enrollment limit for the mini-symposium (July 14-15) or Moleculor Detection Day (July 19).

Letter of Invitation

If you require a visa to enter the United States and need a letter of invitation to the workshop, please contact Dr. Fung. (This letter of invitation will be faxed to you or sent to you via e-mail. We will not send original letters to embassies or provide assistance in securing a visa.)
