The "early bird" registration fee for the symposium is $160 and is available if your payment and form are postmarked by June 2, 2006. After that date, the symposium fee is $170. The fee includes morning and afternoon refreshments, one lunch, the Tuesday evening picnic dinner, the Wednesday evening banquet, and symposium materials. Please note: Meals cannot be guaranteed if registration is received after June 9.

In addition, those taking the symposium for credit need to pay as follows:

For out of state residents, please call the registration office for fees. Paying the credit fee entitles you access to all K-State facilities including the Recreation Complex, the Natatorium pools, Lafene Health Services, use of the Library, and more.

To register for credit, go to www.dce.k-state.edu and click "Course Offerings." Enter course number (MUSIC 811) or reference number (90395) in the appropriate field.

Credit and Non-credit Information

The Music Symposium is offered by the Kansas State University Department of Music and is available for one, two, or three graduate credits. One hour of credit can be earned by attendance at all morning and afternoon sessions; two hours of credit can be earned by attendance at all morning, afternoon, and evening sessions of the Symposium. Those wishing to earn an additional hour of credit must also write a paper or develop a project on some facet of the Symposium, which will be due on or before July 14. The Symposium can also be taken as a non-credit activity by just paying the Symposium registration fee.

Enrollment Procedures

The K-State Division of Continuing Education is responsible for enrolling participants in the Music Symposium and this can be done in one of four ways:

  1. Online at www.dce.k-state.edu/cgi-bin/conf/music.cgi
  2. By mail: print off the online form and send it in with your payment or credit card information.
  3. FAX your registration to the Registration office (FAX: 785-532-2422). Complete the credit card information.
  4. In person: bring in your registration form and payment to the Division of Continuing Education Registration Office, 141 College Court Building located between 16th and 17th Streets on Anderson Avenue, Manhattan, KS.
  5. By Phone - Call 785-532-5569 or 1-800-622-2KSU (2578) and ask for Non-Credit Programs Registration. Office hours: Mon.-Fri., 8 am - 5 pm CST.

The deadline for early registration is Friday, June 2, 2006.

Refund/Cancellation Information

If you must cancel your registration a full refund, minus a $10.00 handling charge, will be available if notification is received on or before Monday, June 5, 2006.

The Division of Continuing Education may cancel or postpone any course or activity because of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If a program is canceled or postponed, the Division of Continuing Education will refund registration fees, but cannot be held responsible for other costs, charges, or expenses, including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.

Those who register by June 2, 2006 will receive a confirmation letter detailing check-in procedures, a receipt, maps to direct you to Manhattan and McCain Auditorium, a parking permit (if purchased), and your name will be on the participant list handed out at the Symposium, unless otherwise indicated on the registration form.
