On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are very pleased to present the 10th International People Plant Symposium to be held on the beautiful campus of Kansas State University from October 4 – 6, 2009, with the support of the Department of Horticulture, Forestry, and Recreation Resources of Kansas State University, the People Plant Council, and the International Society for Horticultural Science.
The purpose of this symposium is to provide a forum for researchers, educators, and practitioners to discuss and develop an international perspective on human issues in horticulture terminology. The meeting will consist of thought-provoking presentations by invited speakers as well as a diverse selection of oral and poster presentations.
The symposium will have a relaxed atmosphere to encourage discussions on papers and presentations with authors and other participants. This communication will enhance the development of a mutual understanding of how we use and understand the related HIH terminology, the relationship between the various fields, and how they relate to traditional horticulture.
For this purpose, this symposium invites researchers, educators, and practitioners from around the world to present their work on the research, program descriptions, theories, and models on
- Human issues in horticulture
- People/plant interactions
- Applications such as
- Horticultural therapy
- Urban horticulture
- Farming for health
