Back by popular demand, the IDEA Center is pleased to announce the next IDEA Seminar: "Motivating Students to Learn," February 25-27, 2007, in
historic San Antonio, Texas. Motivation plays a key role in student learning. This conclusion is supported by extensive research on the topic and by countless experienced teaching faculty from all disciplines. The good news is that it is not a static quality. Student motivation to learn can be increased. Instructors can affect positive change and development in students' motivation to learn, particularly at the course level. Doing so not only improves student academic performance, its benefits spill over into positive faculty morale and institutional effectiveness indicators. Join educators from across the country for a three-day, in-depth exploration of the many factors that affect student motivation. Learn how individuals and instructional teams can change the learning landscape for their students. The seminar leaders are nationally recognized experts, experienced teachers and prominent authors in the field of teaching and learning. They excel at offering practical, evidence-based suggestions and recommendations in a straightforward and non-technical manner. Click here to download the informational brochure for the IDEA Seminar.
