Overview

This workshop will review the latest developments in bridge design practice and LRFD, and provide information about available resources from AASHTO/FHWA and KDOT. The workshop will address the new specifications for bridge field erection, preparation of erection plans, bracing principles, fit-up details, and girder transportation. The workshop will cover erection of both steel and prestressed concrete girders, and will conclude with lessons learned from past bridge collapse experiences. Presentations will be made by bridge/transportation officials, consultants involved in field erection plan preparation, and contractors responsible for bridge construction. PDHs are available.
