The IDEA Center provides products and services to assess and improve teaching, learning, and administrative leadership, including chair coaching, in-depth seminars, and teaching resources.



The Department Chair is a unique resource for chairs, deans, academic vice presidents, and other administrators. Written by practitioners from their own experience, this newsletter is invaluable to anyone responsible for a department in any institution of higher education.


The Academic Leadership Journal is an open access, online journal. It is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed professional learning community that allows readers and editors to add ratings, comments, editor notes, and discussions to published articles.


K-State got its start in 1858, when Bluemont Central College was founded and 53 students enrolled. Five years later K-State became the first college in America to be officially designated a land-grant school.

K-State now has more than 23,000 from all 50 states and more than 90 countries.


K-State's Division of Continuing Education has been serving adult learners since 1863. The Division offers a wide range of credit courses, graduate and undergraduate degree programs, non-credit and professional development opportunities, continuing education certification opportunities and conferences.


With the conference registration, a CD of all workshop materials is provided to each participant. Previous years' proceedings CDs are also available for individual sale.
