The Food Science graduate certificate provides advanced education and training in the food science industry for food scientists and others to advance in the field and explore a diverse range of food science topics.
Graduates of the program can be found working in areas such as quality assurance, food microbiology and safety, management and sales, product development, research and evaluation, consumer relations, and technical services. The program is nationally recognized and certified by the Institute of Food Technologists.
The Food Safety and Defense graduate certificate program is offered through AG*IDEA, an affiliate of the Great Plains IDEA, a national consortium of land grant universities offering programs and courses in agriculture.
To complete the program, students must complete 12 credit hours of coursework.
