Johnson County Community College - Kansas State University Agreement
Kansas State University and Johnson County Community College (JCCC) offer a distance program that allows students to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Food and Beverage Management at JCCC, and then to transfer the majority of those credits to K-State towards the completion of a Bachelor of Science in Food Science.
Food Science Degree Option through Distance Education
K-State offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science through distance education. This degree completion program is designed primarily for students who have completed the equivalent of the first two years of the Food Science and Industry program outlined by the College of Agriculture. This undergraduate degree program deals with all the aspects of the food industry - both theoretical and practical - from producing raw materials through processing and packaging, to marketing finished foods. The curriculum balances fundamental principles and practical applications of food science within a flexible program that permits students to tailor their education to personal career goals.
A Career in Food Science
Kansas State University's Food Science graduates manage and supervise sophisticated food manufacturing industries. Positions may be found in areas of quality assurance, business management and sales, technical service, research and development, process technology and engineering, and consumer relations.
