Kansas State University at Salina and Barton Community College offer a 2 + 2 that allows students to earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree with an emphasis in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement at Barton, and to transfer the majority of those credits to K-State towards the completion of a Bachelor of Science in Technology Management Degree offered through distance education.

Technology Management Degree Option through Distance Education

K-State offers a Bachelor of Science Degree in Technology Management through distance education. This degree completion program is designed for students who have completed the Criminal Justice program at Barton County Community College. The Technology Management degree provides a solid understanding of the fundamental areas in management: finance, accounting, business, and marketing. The curriculum is designed to prepare the student for the diverse environment of the business world as it relates to Criminal Justice. By combining a technical area of concentration with advanced business studies, you can be a professional who has the practical and leadership skills to move forward in business.

A Career in Technology Management

The Criminal Justice Program can provide students with the necessary academic skills to achieve a rewarding career as a police officer, deputy sheriff, correctional officer, highway patrol trooper, or one of the other many exciting positions in the criminal justice system. By coupling this degree with Technology Management, graduates are prepared for supervisory and management positions in a variety of criminal justice related fields. Graduates can use their management and business skills to help further their careers, as they will understand how to hire and supervise employees, train new employees, train new supervisors and managers, plan budgets, and even manage inventory.
