K-State to Offer Online Course on Spirituality in Higher Education

Spirituality in Higher Education, or EDCEP 786, is being offered through Kansas State University's Division of Continuing Education for the 2008 summer semester.

The course will assist students in broadening their understanding of pluralism and multiculturalism by exploring the impact of spirituality and religion in higher education, particularly in the area of student development. – Full Story

K-State Pinnacle Honor Society Inducts New Members

Twenty-nine Kansas State University students were inducted into the Pinnacle Honor Society at the 2008 Adult and Distance Education Recognition and Honor Ceremony April 21 in the K-State Alumni Center ballroom.

The Pinnacle Honor Society is a national honor society for nontraditional students who have at least a 3.0 grade point average. Inductees show a record of excellence in leadership, scholarship and service and receive life membership and a credential recognized for quality and selectivity by graduate programs, institutions and professional fields. – Full Story

The Division of Continuing Education Announces “The Leading Edge – a Newsletter for K-State Distance Students

The Leading Edge” will be published online five times each year and will help distance students develop a connection with K-State, even if they never get to come to the Manhattan campus. Each issue will provide information about university services, faculty and staff, campus events, and other information valuable to all Wildcats, near or far.

Students Celebrate Spring Graduation with Virtual Commencement

K-State Virtual Commencement is a place to honor graduates who live at a distance from the Manhattan, Kansas campus and are not able to attend the on-campus commencement and celebration. Virtual Commencement offers a virtual reception area for K-State faculty, staff, and families of graduates to post congratulatory messages.

K-State at Salina Partners with Northwest Kansas Technical College to Develop 2 + 2 Agreements

A new partnership to provide 2 + 2 agreements has developed between Kansas State University at Salina and Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland.

These agreements allow students to obtain an associate of applied science degree from the technical college and complete the remaining two years of a bachelor's degree through K-State distance education. – Full Story

K-State at Salina Signs 2 + 2 Agreement with Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City

Kansas State University at Salina and Metropolitan Community College, Kansas City, Mo., have signed a 2 + 2 agreement that allows students to complete an associate degree program at the community college and transfer credits to complete a bachelor's degree through K-State distance education.

The new agreement, signed by K-State and Metropolitan Community College representatives March 11, includes the veterinary technology associate's degree at Metropolitan and a technology management bachelor's degree at K-State. – Full Story
