K-State at Salina Partners with Northwest Kansas Technical College to Develop 2 + 2 Agreements

A new partnership to provide 2 + 2 agreements has developed between Kansas State University at Salina and Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland.

These agreements allow students to obtain an associate of applied science degree from the technical college and complete the remaining two years of a bachelor's degree through K-State distance education.

The new 2 + 2 agreements were signed March 31 at Northwest Kansas Technical College and include the associate of applied science degree in computer graphics technology and a bachelor's degree in technology management; and the associate of applied science degree in communications technology and a bachelor's degree in technology management.

K-State has now signed more than 40 individual 2 + 2 agreements with partner institutions throughout Kansas and in several other states.

We are pleased to be able to offer our students the ability to earn a bachelor's degree through our arrangement with Kansas State University at Salina,” said Kenneth A. Clouse, president of Northwest Kansas Technical College. “This will open doors for our students and is a great opportunity for them to pursue more education after they graduate from Northwest Kansas Technical College – whether immediately or after they are in the work force.

Representatives from the technical college at the signing included Clouse; Brenda Chatfield, director of instructional studies; Derek Reilley, communications technology instructor; and Shannan Garrett, computer graphics instructor. K-State representatives included Betty Stevens, associate dean of continuing education; Jennifer Pfortmiller, continuing education coordinator; Dennis Kuhlman, dean and professor of technology and aviation at K-State at Salina; and Don Von Bergen, head of the department of arts, sciences and business.
