K-State at Salina Signs 2 + 2 Agreement with Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City

Kansas State University at Salina and Metropolitan Community College, Kansas City, Mo., have signed a 2 + 2 agreement that allows students to complete an associate degree program at the community college and transfer credits to complete a bachelor's degree through K-State distance education.
The new agreement, signed by K-State and Metropolitan Community College representatives March 11, includes the veterinary technology associate's degree at Metropolitan and a technology management bachelor's degree at K-State.
“We are very pleased to sign this agreement with Metropolitan Community College as a part of our continuing effort to establish partnerships that will enhance the services that both the community college and K-State are able to provide to students,
” said Dave Stewart, K-State assistant dean of continuing education.
K-State representatives at the signing included Dennis Kuhlman, dean of K-State at Salina; Sue Maes, interim dean of continuing education; Betty Stevens, associate dean of continuing education; Don Von Bergen, head of the department of arts, sciences and business; and Jennifer Pfortmiller, continuing education coordinator.
Metropolitan Community College representatives included Fran Padow, director of educational services; Chris Morrow, veterinary technology coordinator; and Jim Tjaden, science department chair.
