K-State to Offer Stream Channel Field Course in Wyoming

Kansas State University is offering the workshop, Stream Channel Field Course: Mapping and Assessment of Natural Stream Channels, July 23-27 in Sheridan, Wyo.

The workshop will teach how to organize and analyze stream data and how to map stream channels in keeping with the principles of natural channel hydrology. These skills will be taught through lectured instruction and four days in the field.

The course targets college students and practitioners involved in natural resources, including hydrology, geology, geomorphology, watershed science/management, aquatic ecology, landscape ecology, landscape architecture, engineering and other related fields.

Course content includes topics such as “An Introduction to Natural Channel Hydrology,” “Field Experience in Mapping a Stream Channel,” and “Practical Experience in Data Analysis.
