K-State Signs 2 + 2 Agreements with Pratt Community College

Kansas State University and Pratt Community College have developed two 2 + 2 agreements, which will allow place-bound students in the Pratt area to earn a bachelor's degree through K-State distance education.

Through these two agreements, place-bound students may earn their associate's degree in either accounting or business administration from Pratt Community College and then transfer credits to K-State to earn a bachelor's degree in general business.

The agreements were signed at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 7, 2007 on the Pratt Community College campus. This is the tenth community college in Kansas with which K-State has signed an agreement specifically for non-traditional, place-bound learners.

“We are excited to add Pratt Community College as a 2 + 2 partner,” said Betty Stevens, associate vice provost for technology partnerships and associate dean of continuing education. “These agreements make it possible for place-bound students in the Pratt area to pursue a bachelor's degree from K-State without having to leave their job, family, or community.”

Representatives of Pratt Community College present for the signing included William Wojciechowski, president; Carol Ricke, chair of accounting and business department; and Jim Stratford, vice president for instruction.

Along with Stevens, K-State representatives included Daniel Butcher, program coordinator for the bachelor's degree completion program.
