K-State Signs More 2 + 2 Agreements with Barton County Community College

Officials from Kansas State University and Barton County Community College recently signed three new 2 + 2 agreements which will allow students to earn an associate degree from the community college and transfer credits to K-State to complete a bachelor's degree.

Eight 2 + 2s have now been signed between Barton County Community College and K-State. – Full story

K-State Continues Enrollment for Dreamweaver and Web Design Distance Education Course

The Division of Continuing Education at Kansas State University is continuing enrollment for the 3-credit online course “Topics in Dreamweaver and Web Design,” EDCI 786, which is open to both graduate and undergraduate students.

Instructor Trudy Lund will cover the basics of Web site design and development using Dreamweaver. Topics include Dreamweaver elements, image types, graphics, file types, basic design principles, site planning, structure, organization, and navigation and basic site/template design. – Full story

K-State Distance Education Programs Win More National Honors

Kansas State University has won two honorable mention awards from the Association for Continuing Higher Education for distance education programs the university offers through its Division of Continuing Education.

K-State received an honorable mention in the Crystal Marketing Award category for the 2004-2006 campaign, “Be a Wildcat Wherever You Live,” and honorable mention in the distinguished non-credit program category for the Management, Analysis and Strategic Thinking program for farm managers offered through K-State's department of agricultural economics. – Full story

K-State Accepting Registrations for 24th Annual Academic Chairpersons Conference

Academic Leadership: Building Responsive and Responsible Communities” is the theme of the 24th annual Academic Chairpersons Conference, Feb. 7-9, at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando, Fla.

The conference is designed to unite academic chairpersons, administrators and faculty and to share the most successful, innovative ideas and strategies that assist them in becoming even more efficient. Activities will include workshops, speakers, and presentations. – Full story

K-State's Food Science Institute Offers New Distance Learning Course for Spring 2007 Semester

Kansas State University's Food Science Institute will begin offering a new distance education course in the spring 2007 semester about regulations dealing with kosher and halal food production.

Kosher and Halal Food Regulations, or FDSCI 630, is a two credit-hour course that will be taught by Joe M. Regenstein, professor of food science at Cornell University and head of the Cornell Kosher Food Initiative. Regenstein also is an adjunct professor of food science at K-State. – Full story
