K-State Crisis Response Workshop Wins Exceptional Conference Program Award

The Association for Continuing Higher Education has awarded its 2007 Region VIII Exceptional Conference Program Award to the Crisis Response Project Workshop offered through Kansas State University's department of communications and the K-State Division of Continuing Education.

The award was presented at the association's Region VIII annual conference Feb. 22-23 in Manhattan. – Full story

Kansas State University Announces Invention to Venture Workshop

Kansas State University has been selected as a host of a one-day workshop, Invention to Venture. The workshop will be 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Friday, April 13, in K-State's Fiedler Hall.

Backed by the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance and the Kauffman Foundation, the event is one of a national series of workshops for science and technology students and faculty. Initial sponsors of the workshop are K-State's Office of the Provost, the Advanced Manufacturing Institute and the National Institute for Strategic Technology Acquisition and Commercialization. – Full story

K-State at Salina to Offer Aviation and Technology Management Classes at Fort Riley

Aviation and technology management classes at Kansas State University at Salina will soon take off at Fort Riley.

Faculty from K-State at Salina will begin offering classes in the aviation maintenance, professional pilot and technology management curriculums starting March 26. Enrollment begins immediately. – Full story

K-State Signs 2 + 2 Agreement with Coffeyville Community College

Kansas State University and Coffeyville Community College have developed a 2 + 2 agreement that allows students to earn an associate degree in marketing and mid-management from Coffeyville and transfer credits to K-State to complete a bachelor's degree in general business.

Twenty-three 2 + 2 agreements have now been signed between K-State and nine community colleges across Kansas and the country. Additional agreements are currently being developed. – Full story

K-State Taking Registrations for 24th Annual Water and the Future of Kansas Conference

Sedimentation to federal reservoirs will be the focus of the 24th annual Water and the Future of Kansas Conference, Thursday, March 15, at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka.

The conference is a forum for state agency, university and organization representatives who study, plan, regulate or have an interest in influencing water management decisions. Any Kansan who is interested in water can attend the conference and learn more about issues affecting the state's water supply. – Full story
