K-State Signs 2 + 2 Agreement with Coffeyville Community College

Kansas State University and Coffeyville Community College have developed a 2 + 2 agreement that allows students to earn an associate degree in marketing and mid-management from Coffeyville and transfer credits to K-State to complete a bachelor's degree in general business.

Twenty-three 2 + 2 agreements have now been signed between K-State and nine community colleges across Kansas and the country. Additional agreements are currently being developed.

“The cooperation with the community colleges has the potential to bring great benefit to both current and potential students in Kansas,” said Elizabeth Unger, K-State's vice provost for academic services and technology and dean of continuing education. “It provides a defined path to a degree at a higher education institution, while allowing students to benefit from the home community support. This relationship of K-State and Coffeyville bodes well for increasing benefits to the citizens of this great state.”

The agreement was signed Feb. 2 on the Coffeyville campus. Representatives from Coffeyville included Don Woodburn, president; Linda Moley, executive vice president for college affairs and student services; Marlon Thornburg, vice president for learning; Jill Koslosky, dean of enrollment management and marketing; Bill Strecker, dean of technology; Delia Northup, dean of work force development; Cari Redden, director of academic advisement; Debbie Allen, business instructor; and Carolyn Nelson, business instructor.

K-State representatives included Betty Stevens, associate dean of continuing education and associate vice provost for information technology partnerships; David Stewart, assistant dean for program development and marketing in continuing education; Ike Ehie, associate dean for the College of Business Administration and associate professor of management; and Daniel Butcher, program coordinator for the bachelor's degree completion program.
